Medical Librarian

Responsibilities

• Provide reference assistance and bibliographic instruction to medical students, faculty, and staff via face-to-face, telephone, email, and chat models
• Support collection development by evaluating, collecting, discarding, and loaning print and electronic information resources
• Assist with circulation support and the maintenance of the Reed Health Sciences Library collection
• Collaborate with other librarians to update the library website and create innovative electronic instructional resources, such as web-based tutorials and online guides
• Participate in departmental planning, decision-making, and the implementation of library policies
• Complete required institutional and program accreditation reports in conjunction with the Director of Library
• Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University and market library services to the academic community

Requirements

• ALA accredited Master's degree in Library Science
• Ability to occasionally travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) credential or provisional membership
• Additional advanced degree in an area relevant to LMU's programs
• Experience in an academic, medical, or health sciences library
• Knowledge of SpringShare or similar library software
