Medical Laboratory Technician Program Consultant

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program in compliance with NAACLS standards and NJ Higher Education regulations.
• Oversee the program accreditation application process, including documentation compilation and submission.
• Conduct budget analysis and cost evaluations to ensure program sustainability and resource availability.
• Evaluate program space and recommend necessary laboratory equipment and instructional resources.
• Develop clinical affiliate partnerships to secure required student clinical experiences.
• Create staffing plans and assist in the recruitment of key personnel, including the Program Director.
• Prepare for accreditation site visits by conducting mock interviews and reviewing materials.
• Provide post-site visit support to address follow-up items and ensure full compliance.

Requirements

• Master's degree in medical laboratory science or a related discipline.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification (e.g., ASCP) or equivalent from a recognized agency.
• Minimum of five years of experience in both teaching and clinical laboratory settings.
• Minimum of four years of leadership or supervisory experience with accountability for team or program results.
• Demonstrated knowledge of NAACLS standards and accreditation processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with student databases or financial systems.
• Ability to travel to affiliated clinical sites and campus locations in Toms River and/or Manahawkin as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in medical laboratory science or a related discipline.
