Medical Lab Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of assigned laboratory work groups through delegation, training, and supervision
• Plan, prioritize, and assign workload, tasks, and projects to support effective laboratory operations
• Coach, develop, and evaluate laboratory staff while supporting hiring and performance management
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshoot complex laboratory challenges
• Lead quality, safety, CAPA, and compliance activities to ensure department standards are met
• Monitor operational metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Support procedure development, regulatory updates, and the implementation of new tests and equipment

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience working in a regulated environment
• 4+ years of experience in a regulated laboratory setting
• 2+ years of direct line management experience
• In-depth knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and applicable regulations
• Working knowledge of QA/QC principles and company-specific program requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAP/CLIA regulated laboratory environments
• Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex data for operational decision-making
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
