About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build MRI protocols on scanners as outlined in research documents
  • Perform PET-MRI and MRI procedures to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Ensure MRI safety standards of practice are followed at all times
  • Operate and troubleshoot medical imaging and ancillary equipment
  • Prepare written and electronic reports to document procedures and test results
  • Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant applications, and data processing
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals intravenously under physician direction
  • Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Perform venipuncture or catheterization for radiopharmaceutical administration
  • Monitor radiation work areas and maintain equipment checks

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized post-diploma program in MRI or equivalent
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized academic institution
  • Minimum three years of recent clinical MRI experience
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Approval by CAMRT to practice Nuclear Medicine in Canada
  • Completion of Cross-section Anatomy and contrast injection courses
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S) Level LL certification
  • Ability to operate PET diagnostic equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Cardiac MRI experience
