Medical Director

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for the 12-bed Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU)
• Oversee APU psychiatrists and advanced practice providers, including onboarding and training
• Manage psychiatry staffing schedules and after-hours call coverage
• Participate in APU QAPI committees and other clinical or operational committees
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate patient care, transfers, and referrals
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and support electronic health record optimization
• Perform clinical screening of referrals for APU admission
• Provide consultation and guidance for residents with behavioral health needs at Frank Residences and JHRC
• Serve as Medical Staff President and lead the Medical Staff Executive Committee
• Promote the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of the organization

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Current unrestricted physician license in the State of California
• Board Certification in Psychiatry
• Training and experience in inpatient psychiatric medicine
• Minimum of five years of administrative leadership experience as a Medical Director or in a comparable role
• Demonstrated knowledge of psychiatric regulatory requirements and healthcare operations
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Training and experience in Geriatric Psychiatry
