Medical Director of Molecular Genetics

Responsibilities

• Perform daily review, interpretation, and documentation of clinical cytogenetic, FISH, chromosomal microarray, and molecular diagnostic test results.
• Support quality management and proficiency programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Provide input for the development of new assays and participate in test method selection and validation.
• Collaborate with laboratory co-directors, technologists, and operations staff to ensure efficient workflows.
• Partner with clinicians and researchers to provide advanced diagnostic care and support research initiatives.
• Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Requirements

• PhD or MD degree (or equivalent).
• ABMGG board certification in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics.
• Ability to provide leadership to laboratory staff and healthcare professionals.
• High level of professional credibility and personal integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of post-board certification experience in clinical cytogenetics and molecular diagnostics laboratories.
• Previous experience in both germline and somatic genetic testing.
• Specialized training in Clinical Cytogenetics, Molecular Genetics, and Molecular Oncology.
