Medical Director

Responsibilities

• Provide medical guidance for the didactic and clinical components of the MPAS program to ensure accreditation standards are met
• Teach assigned courses in accordance with syllabus, institutional policy, and evidence-based medicine
• Assist with the administration, organization, and development of the clinical education phase
• Serve as an Academic Advisor to Physician Assistant Studies students
• Advocate for the PA program and serve as a liaison to the medical community
• Participate in departmental committees, program self-studies, and accreditation documentation
• Attend official university events such as the White Coat Ceremony and graduation

Requirements

• Licensed, board-certified physician OR a licensed and certified Physician Assistant
• Extensive clinical experience
• Deep knowledge of the PA profession, practice standards, and roles
• Prior experience supervising or working with practicing graduate physician assistants
• Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience
• Experience in primary care
