Medical Director, Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health

Responsibilities

• Provide medical expertise and leadership to reduce racial disparities in maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity
• Deliver clinical trainings and updates related to bureau priorities and goals
• Collaborate with Research and Evaluation staff on data collection, analysis, and literature reviews
• Provide clinical guidance to home visiting programs, including nursing and social work protocols
• Support the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Equity Unit with clinical guidance and policy advocacy
• Partner with the Chief Medical Officer to support the Coalition to End Racism in Clinical Algorithms
• Represent the Assistant Commissioner and Bureau at meetings and conferences

Requirements

• Valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York
• Board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology or Family Medicine
• Master's degree in Public Health or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of managerial and supervisory experience
• Demonstrated commitment to sexual, reproductive, and racial justice
• Experience working with community partners or community-based work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing activities applying a reproductive and racial justice lens
• Advanced experience in epidemiology or biostatistics
