Medical Device Reprocessor

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, sterilization, and equipment re-use processes at multiple stations with high attention to detail
• Execute high-temperature steam, low-temperature ethylene oxide, and other sterilization methods
• Prepare and manage supplies and inventory, ensuring delicate and expensive instruments are handled with care
• Identify, sort, and inventory over 1,000 different surgical instruments accurately
• Maintain the mobile Respiratory Therapy crash cart with necessary emergency supplies
• Perform picking and issuing responsibilities and maintain accurate, timely records
• Ensure compliance with infection control, sanitary, and Body Substance Precautions requirements

Requirements

• Post-secondary certificate in Sterile Supplies Processing (including a four-week practicum) or completion of the CSAO course
• Minimum of one year of full-time equivalent MDRD experience
• Strong knowledge of microbiology principles and W.H.M.I.S.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting between 6kg and 10kg
• Proficiency in operating processing equipment and knowledge of instrument technology
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership with the Central Service Association of Ontario (CSAO)
