Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Payor Relations, Credentialing, and Revenue Cycle teams to support accurate billing
• Respond to patient billing inquiries via calls, email, and text with professionalism and empathy
• Educate patients on insurance coverage, payment options, and financial responsibilities
• Review encounter documentation to code and submit accurate claims using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits across multiple states and clinics
• Track claim status, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and initiate appeals
• Post payments, adjustments, and denials accurately within the billing system or EMR
• Ensure billing activities comply with federal, state, and payor requirements

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in medical coding and billing, customer support, or data entry
• Strong knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures (CPT/ICD-10)
• Experience with EMR, CRM, or billing software (e.g., Athena, DrChrono)
• Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
• High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health or trauma-informed care settings
• Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorization, or RCM processes
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business
• Current AAPC or similar coding/billing certification
