Medical Coder

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret complex medical records to identify and accurately bill for services
• Assign and sequence appropriate ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes
• Ensure all coding is in compliance with third-party payer requirements
• Obtain clarification from medical staff when presented with conflicting or non-specific documentation
• Review coding-related denials from payers and provide recommendations to resolve claims based on payer guidelines

Requirements

• 2+ years of inpatient and outpatient professional medical coding experience within a multi-specialty practice background
• OR 2+ years of relevant facility coding experience, specifically in Clinics and Lab/Radiology (mandatory)
• CPC, CCS, or CCS-P certification is required
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills with high attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ED, OBS, SDS, or Inpatient settings
• Strong experience with injection and infusion coding
