Medical Coder

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records, physician notes, and test results to ensure precise CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding.
• Ensure coding reflects medical necessity and supports all billed services for outpatient encounters.
• Submit clean claims to insurance and manage the resubmission of rejected claims within defined timelines.
• Analyze rejected and denied claims to identify root causes and prepare compliant resubmissions.
• Draft appeal letters with clinical justification and supporting documentation to resolve denials.
• Liaise with insurance companies and TPAs to clarify denial reasons and monitor payer policy updates.
• Clarify incomplete or ambiguous documentation with clinicians to maintain documentation integrity.
• Maintain organized digital records of denials, corrections, and appeals to ensure audit readiness.

Requirements

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of coding and denial management experience within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of DHA regulations and UAE payer rules.
• Proficiency in EHR systems, coding tools, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with clinical, billing, and insurance teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in outpatient clinics or specialty centers.
• Background in endocrinology or metabolic care settings.
