Medical Coder

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and day case claims and coordinate with clinical teams on queries
• Review and validate medical records for accuracy and completeness to ensure no missing documentation
• Assign correct ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, and other relevant codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Provide feedback and training to clinical staff to improve documentation quality and reporting accuracy
• Conduct regular internal audits and assist with external audits to maintain compliance
• Collaborate with physicians to clarify or resolve discrepancies in clinical documentation
• Ensure coding compliance with Department of Health and Dubai Health Authority regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a relevant field
• Certified medical coder with a valid coding certification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience within the Abu Dhabi market
• Proven experience in inpatient and day case coding
