Medical Assistant/Licensed Practical Nurse

About the Company

Sarasota Arthritis Centers is a privately owned, physician-led rheumatology practice serving Southwest Florida, with locations in Sarasota, Venice, and Bradenton. We provide comprehensive care through our on-site infusion therapy, laboratory services, and clinical research center.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, room them efficiently, and obtain accurate vitals, medication lists, allergies, and medical histories
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, injections, and treatments within scope of practice
• Provide clinical support to infusion nurses, including patient intake and infusion room preparation
• Administer injections per provider orders
• Update EMR documentation timely and accurately
• Prepare referrals, imaging orders, and lab orders for provider review
• Manage patient flow and ensure exam rooms are clean and well-stocked
• Complete refill requests and MIPS measures

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant clinical experience
• CPR/BLS certification (or obtained within 90 days of hire)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior clinical experience
• 1+ year experience in rheumatology, internal medicine, or other specialty practice
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically NextGen
