About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with the examination and treatment of ambulatory patients
- Prepare patients and the clinical environment for medical treatments
- Conduct basic CLIA-waived laboratory tests
- Provide patient education and post-treatment care
- Perform clerical reception functions and other assigned clinical duties
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant course (AAMA or CAHEA) OR high school graduation with one year of direct patient care experience
- Washington State Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) credential submitted within 14 days of hire, OR Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) upon hire
- Maintain biannual Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification
- Ability to perform and maintain required Medical Assistant skill competencies
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant
- Experience documenting and maintaining electronic medical records (EMR)
- Experience with specimen collection, laboratory testing, and equipment sterilization
- Experience setting up for special procedures or assisting with minor surgical procedures
