About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting providers with medical procedures
- Administer medications via oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, or intramuscular routes
- Conduct fingerstick blood glucose checks, EKGs, and CLIA-waived in-house lab tests
- Process lab specimens and administer vaccines or PPD skin tests
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling patients across multiple campuses and updating EMR records
- Maintain clinical areas by cleaning, restocking supplies, and monitoring inventory expiration dates
- Provide front desk support, including patient check-in, cashier duties, and resolving patient concerns
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification or licensure obtained within six months of start date
- 2 years of experience in a medical office or hospital setting
- Current BLS/AED certification for professional rescuers and healthcare providers
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical office practices
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in medical billing and insurance claims
- Solid computer skills and experience with medical billing systems
- Knowledge of State and Federal confidentiality regulations
- Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
