About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care services under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician
- Obtain and record patient vital signs
- Perform phlebotomy services and assist with specimen collection, labeling, and logging
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and hemocults
- Document all aspects of patient care and family education in accordance with hospital policies
- Implement patient education as delegated by clinical staff
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited body
- Completion of a certified/registered medical assistant program
- Current certificate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training
- Proven phlebotomy experience
- Experience working in a community health setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and electronic health records like EPIC or OASIS
- Experience with computerized appointment scheduling
- Strong verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks including stocking, lifting, and transporting supplies
