Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN, APN, or Physician
• Obtain and record patient vital signs
• Perform phlebotomy services and assist with specimen collection, labeling, and logging
• Conduct clinical tests such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and hemocults
• Document all aspects of patient care and family education in accordance with hospital policies
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative tasks

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited body
• Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Proven phlebotomy experience
• Experience working in a community health setting
• Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program with a CMA credential

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and electronic health records like EPIC or OASIS
• Experience with computerized appointment scheduling
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive patient contacts with discretion
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability to perform stocking, lifting, and transporting of medical supplies
