Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care duties including obtaining and recording vital signs
• Administer vaccines and conduct clinical tests such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and hemocults
• Perform phlebotomy services and assist with the collection, labeling, and logging of specimens
• Document all aspects of patient care and family education in accordance with hospital policies
• Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance care delivery
• Assist with clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of an RN, APN, or Physician

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited body
• Current certificate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training
• Proven phlebotomy experience
• Experience working in a community health setting
• Graduate of a certified program for Medical Assistants (CMA credential)

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and electronic health record systems like EPIC
• Experience with computerized appointment scheduling
• Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive patient contacts with discretion
• Ability to thrive and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability to perform stocking, lifting, and transporting of medical supplies
