Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and vital sign recording
• Prepare patients for examinations and explain medical procedures
• Administer injections, medications, and basic first aid as directed
• Perform basic laboratory tests, handle specimens, and conduct ECGs
• Maintain examination rooms by ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies
• Manage patient records, schedule appointments, and update electronic health records (EHR)
• Handle administrative tasks including billing, coding, insurance verification, and front-office activities
• Instruct patients on medications, follow-up care, and preventive lifestyle changes
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA or RMA certification preferred) OR a current, unrestricted Ohio LPN license
• Minimum of one year of recent experience working in a medical facility
• Proficiency in MS Office and electronic health records (EHR) software
• Current CPR certification
• Up-to-date immunizations (Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree
• Experience in an outpatient office setting, specifically in primary care or substance use disorder practice
