Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties including venipuncture, capillary blood collection, EKG administration, and non-intravenous medication administration
• Room patients, prepare them for examinations, and record accurate patient care documentation in EMR systems
• Prepare and sterilize medical equipment using an autoclave and perform quality control checks on diagnostic equipment
• Organize, stock, and clean exam and treatment rooms while following standard infection control precautions
• Assist physicians and nursing personnel with various clinical procedures and specimen collection
• Conduct telephone and in-person screenings for patient intake and information gathering

Requirements

• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification (or ability to obtain within 180 days)
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers
• Proven knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and EMR systems
• Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
• Ability to pass Tuberculosis screening and provide proof of immunity to required vaccinations

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Proven knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
