About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment and document chief complaints
- Obtain patient histories and vital signs and record accurately in the Electronic Medical Record
- Assist with patient exams, procedures, and collection of specimens as assigned
- Retrieve laboratory and radiology test results and instruct patients regarding medications and treatment per physician's instructions
- Administer injections safely and interpret current immunization schedules
- Stock supplies and prepare exam rooms and instruments for examinations, testing, or minor surgeries
- Respond to incoming phone calls, refer as necessary, and follow up with patients to schedule appointments
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MA Certification from the AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
- Healthcare provider level CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
