Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment and document chief complaints
• Obtain patient histories and vital signs and record accurately in the Electronic Medical Record
• Assist with patient exams, procedures, and collection of specimens as assigned
• Retrieve laboratory and radiology test results and instruct patients regarding medications and treatment per physician's instructions
• Administer injections safely and interpret current immunization schedules
• Stock supplies and prepare exam rooms and instruments for examinations, testing, or minor surgeries
• Respond to incoming phone calls, refer as necessary, and follow up with patients to schedule appointments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• MA Certification from the AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
• Healthcare provider level CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
