Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms by cleaning and stocking appropriate supplies
• Escort patients, check vital signs, and record reasons for visits
• Assist physicians with procedures such as suture removal and minor surgeries
• Prepare and package specimens for lab analysis
• Schedule diagnostic tests and facilitate physician referrals
• Coordinate with pharmacies, hospitals, and nursing homes regarding patient care
• Pre-certify medications and referrals with insurance providers
• Manage manual inventory of drugs and office supplies
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety standards

Requirements

• Ability to take patient vitals and perform injection/immunization procedures
• Proficiency in charting, documentation, and sterile techniques
• Strong oral and written communication skills for patient and provider interaction
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of dermatology medical office experience
• Experience with Modernizing Medicine / EMA Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Dermatology Medical Assistant experience
