Medical Assistant, OBGYN

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN, APN, or Physician
• Obtain and record patient vital signs
• Perform clinical tests including pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and hemocults
• Perform phlebotomy services and assist with specimen collection, labeling, and logging
• Administer vaccines and conduct EKGs
• Document all aspects of patient care and family education in accordance with hospital policies
• Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with the healthcare team

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited body
• Current certificate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training
• Proven phlebotomy experience
• Experience working in a community health setting
• Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program (CMA credential)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EPIC, OASIS, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
• Experience with computerized appointment scheduling
• Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong verbal communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive patient contacts with discretion and tact
