Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Facilitate efficient patient flow by escorting patients to exam rooms and obtaining accurate vital signs
• Assist practitioners with medical and surgical procedures, including ECGs, venipuncture, and immunizations
• Prepare and stock exam rooms following established disinfection and sterilization protocols
• Maintain vaccine and medication inventory and assist in ordering supplies
• Document patient reasons for visits, allergies, and pharmacy information in medical records
• Interact with patients in a professional and friendly manner to promote satisfaction

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Current Medical Assistant certification (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or NRCMA) or eligibility to obtain one within six months
• American Heart Association accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
• Strong computer skills
• 0-2 years of experience in a relevant role

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience
• Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR)
