Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Facilitate efficient patient flow by escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining vital signs, and documenting medical histories.
• Assist practitioners with medical and surgical procedures, including ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Maintain clean and safe patient care areas by disinfecting equipment and sterilizing instruments according to protocol.
• Manage clinical inventory, including vaccine/medication supplies and ordering necessary medical items.
• Communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or NRCMA) or eligibility to obtain one within six months of employment.
• American Heart Association accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• Strong computer skills.
• 0-2 years of experience in a relevant clinical role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• One to two years of experience in ambulatory care.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
