Medical Assistant, Neurology

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care services under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician
• Obtain and record patient vital signs
• Perform phlebotomy services and assist with specimen collection, labeling, and logging
• Conduct diagnostic tests such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and hemocults
• Document all aspects of patient care and family education in accordance with hospital policies
• Practice patient-centered care and uphold organizational pride values

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited body
• Completion of a certified/registered medical assistant program recognized by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current certificate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training
• Proven phlebotomy experience
• Experience working in a community health setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and electronic health record systems like EPIC
• Experience with computerized appointment scheduling
• Strong verbal communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ability to perform physical tasks including stocking, lifting, and transporting supplies
