Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms to ensure cleanliness, safety, and adequate medical supply levels
• Perform rooming functions, including reviewing allergies, medical records, and medication lists
• Obtain vital signs and perform point-of-care tests
• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and perform electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Prepare patients for procedures by assembling necessary supplies and equipment
• Assist clinicians during physical exams and medical procedures as directed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification
• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• National Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA)
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and experience in a high-volume, multi-specialty setting
• Experience using Epic EMR
