Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide WIC and immunization services as part of a multidisciplinary community clinical team
• Perform routine clinical procedures, including anthropometric measurements and specimen collection
• Obtain capillary and venous blood samples and support venipuncture-related workflows
• Verify client eligibility, schedule appointments, and complete registration
• Enter, update, and maintain accurate client records in electronic systems
• Deliver general clerical and administrative support in a public health setting

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• AAMA certification or AMT registration
• State of Michigan Medical Assistant certification
• Experience with venipuncture and specimen collection
• Computer literacy, including Word, spreadsheets, and databases
• Experience with electronic medical records
• Valid, unrestricted Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

• Experience working with maternal, infant, and child populations
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently with strong attention to detail
• Client-focused, culturally aware customer service approach
