About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide WIC and immunization services as part of a multidisciplinary community clinical team
- Perform routine clinical procedures, including anthropometric measurements and specimen collection
- Obtain capillary and venous blood samples and support venipuncture-related workflows
- Verify client eligibility, schedule appointments, and complete registration
- Enter, update, and maintain accurate client records in electronic systems
- Deliver general clerical and administrative support in a public health setting
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- AAMA certification or AMT registration
- State of Michigan Medical Assistant certification
- Experience with venipuncture and specimen collection
- Computer literacy, including Word, spreadsheets, and databases
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Valid, unrestricted Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with maternal, infant, and child populations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently with strong attention to detail
- Client-focused, culturally aware customer service approach
