About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform routine clinical procedures and provide immunization support services
- Verify eligibility for program services and complete client registration
- Collect and record anthropometric measurements
- Obtain capillary and venous blood samples through venipuncture
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate client data in electronic medical records
- Deliver general clerical and administrative support to the clinical team
- Work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, with required late shifts on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- AAMA certification or AMT registration
- State of Michigan Medical Assistant Certification
- Proven experience in venipuncture and specimen collection
- Proficiency with computers, including Word, spreadsheets, and database management
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Valid, unrestricted Michigan driver’s license and access to regular transportation
- Ability to provide culturally aware, client-driven service following HIPAA guidelines
