Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for dermatological examinations and procedures
• Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints
• Assist dermatologists with clinical procedures including skin exams, biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and cosmetic treatments
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies
• Perform wound care, suture removal, and dressing changes as directed
• Educate patients on post-procedure care and general dermatological health
• Manage patient records, handle prior authorizations, and maintain accurate EMR documentation
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
• Support front desk operations, including answering phones and verifying insurance

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of dermatologic terminology and procedures
• Proficiency in using EMR systems such as EMA or Epic
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Compassionate and professional demeanor with patients and staff

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a medical office
• Bilingual capabilities
