Medical Assistant II

Responsibilities

• Manage high patient volume averaging up to 40 patients daily
• Perform advanced scribing and document detailed patient histories (HPI)
• Assist with complex surgical procedures including biopsies, ED&Cs, and excisions
• Support advanced cosmetic procedures such as Botox and laser treatments
• Administer local anesthesia under physician direction and remove sutures
• Log and transmit pathology orders to laboratories
• Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations
• Operate specialized equipment like Narrowband UVB and photodynamic therapy units
• Maintain sterile techniques and follow infection control protocols
• Ensure examination rooms and supply areas are cleaned and stocked

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3–5 years of medical assistant experience
• Strong preference for dermatology specialization
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
• Advanced knowledge of dermatological procedures
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certifications or training in medical assistance
• At least 1 year of experience in Dermatology for sign-on bonus eligibility
