Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, nurses, and radiology technicians with patient care and surgical procedures
• Prepare patients for surgery by positioning, shaving, and prepping
• Maintain a sterile environment during procedures and follow all sterile protocols
• Take initial vital signs and assist patients to the pre-op area
• Assemble, use, and remove surgical instruments, equipment, gloves, and linens
• Clean and sanitize procedure rooms between patients
• Sterilize instruments and maintain accurate quality assurance documentation
• Keep assigned clinical areas clean and well-stocked
• Ensure strict confidentiality of patient information and medical records
• Transport patients as needed within the facility

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Current CPR Certification
• Knowledge of instrument sterilization techniques
• Knowledge of personal protective devices, specifically for operating in Radiology environments
• Ability to stand for long periods and wear a lead apron
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and assist in positioning patients weighing up to 400 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of related medical experience
• Previous experience working in a hospital or operating room setting
