Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care by escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for examinations or procedures.
• Obtain and record vital signs, medical and social history, height, weight, allergy information, and medication reconciliation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Assist providers by ensuring appropriate preparation, examination, and diagnostic testing occur without delay.
• Manage administrative tasks including processing patient referrals, preparing EMR charts, and placing orders for labs or studies.
• Handle patient communications by answering phones, returning calls, and responding to pharmacy requests in collaboration with providers.
• Maintain clinical environments by cleaning and stocking exam rooms and assisting with medical and office supply inventory.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities within the EHR.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course (required for hires after March 1, 2025).
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification.
• Previous experience working in a healthcare environment.
