Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Record patients’ medical history, vital statistics, or other health information in Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Assess physical conditions of patients to aid diagnosis or treatment
• Administer injections, immunizations, and associated quality controls
• Perform testing procedures such as urine dipstick, rapid strep, fecal occult blood, and pregnancy tests
• Assist Nurses and Medical Providers with medical procedures
• Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with clinical standards
• Prepare, sterilize, and clean patient treatment rooms
• Support medical office duties including registration, discharge, scheduling, and answering phones

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to use computers and Windows-based software
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational need
