Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care by taking vitals, patient history, and triaging
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations, and wound care
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes
• Carry out ear lavages and run EKGs
• Conduct lab testing including urinalysis, pregnancy tests, blood glucose, monospot, rapid strep, influenza, and rapid HIV testing
• Manage front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed
• Complete training to become DOT certified for Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Current BLS certification
• Willingness to obtain DOT certification
• Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and some holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant
• Phlebotomy experience
