About the role
Responsibilities
- Room patients for clinic visits, including performing patient intake
- Prepare, clean, and sanitize exam and procedure rooms between visits
- Restock and maintain clinical supplies and medical equipment
- Perform specimen processing, bench lab testing, and quality control monitoring
- Administer immunizations and medications as directed
- Coordinate with physicians, nursing, and clerical staff to ensure quality patient care
- Chaperone provider and patient examinations
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, current enrollment in a healthcare professional program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (1-3 years)
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care, and basic medical terminology
- Ability to perform physical tasks including moderate standing, walking, lifting, and transferring patients
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant
- 1-3 years of experience in an outpatient physician office or ambulatory care setting
- Experience in a high-risk OB/GYN clinic, including hands-on experience with obstetrics and gynecology procedures, IUDs, female exams, and Pap smears
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
- Proficiency in computer usage and telephone etiquette
