About the role

Responsibilities

  • Room patients for clinic visits, including performing patient intake
  • Prepare, clean, and sanitize exam and procedure rooms between visits
  • Restock and maintain clinical supplies and medical equipment
  • Perform specimen processing, bench lab testing, and quality control monitoring
  • Administer immunizations and medications as directed
  • Coordinate with physicians, nursing, and clerical staff to ensure quality patient care
  • Chaperone provider and patient examinations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, current enrollment in a healthcare professional program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (1-3 years)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care, and basic medical terminology
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including moderate standing, walking, lifting, and transferring patients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • 1-3 years of experience in an outpatient physician office or ambulatory care setting
  • Experience in a high-risk OB/GYN clinic, including hands-on experience with obstetrics and gynecology procedures, IUDs, female exams, and Pap smears
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
  • Proficiency in computer usage and telephone etiquette
