Responsibilities

• Provide medical reception and administration services for a busy medical and mental health clinic
• Optimize patient satisfaction and clinician time by booking appointments
• Register patients and collect demographic and billing information
• Answer patient enquiries regarding services and health insurance
• Maintain and update patient charts
• Handle fees or fines and issue receipts
• Probe for information to establish patient needs

Requirements

• College Diploma in medical administration or equivalent
• Minimum two years of experience in a medical clinic
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with medical booking/billing software (Accuro preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom)
• Typing speed of at least 40 w.p.m.
• Experience managing multi-line telephone systems
• Strong understanding of FIPPA and PHIPA confidentiality standards
• Ability to work calmly under pressure in a front-line setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a mental health clinic
• Experience with virtual care platforms such as Zoom for Healthcare, Modeo, or OTN
