Media Relations Manager

Responsibilities

• Execute a proactive media relations strategy to establish the company as a leader in sustainable mobility.
• Actively pitch and place stories to secure national, regional, and trade media coverage.
• Build and maintain direct relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
• Manage the external PR agency, setting priorities and holding them accountable to coverage outcomes.
• Write and edit press releases, media advisories, pitches, and briefing documents.
• Prepare spokespeople for media interactions through interview prep and messaging development.
• Lead reactive media responses and advise on potential red flag topics.
• Report monthly on coverage quality and earned media contribution to business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of communications experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• At least 1 year of lead experience.
• Proven experience in media pitching and securing placements in business or trade press.
• Strong professional writing and editing skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in complex B2B sectors such as manufacturing, technology, or logistics.
• Demonstrated track record of placements in outlets like WSJ, Bloomberg, or CNBC.
• Experience managing agency partners and integrating their work with internal content calendars.
• Ability to operate at an executive level, prepping senior leaders for media engagements.
• Understanding of AI-era PR strategy and LLM search.
