About the role
Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve technical issues affecting production, broadcast, and content distribution, including system outages and malfunctions.
- Analyze and troubleshoot streaming audio/video signals in traditional SDI and IP 2110 essence flow routing environments.
- Perform preventative maintenance and upgrades on broadcast systems, including switchers, consoles, playout servers, and automation systems.
- Manage third-party service providers and ensure compliance with agreed-upon scopes of service.
- Assist in the development of long-range plans for media technology needs and capital improvements.
- Maintain and contribute to comprehensive system and workflow documentation.
- Support cloud platforms and troubleshoot issues related to cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience in the sustainment and stability of live media production and distribution environments.
- High school degree or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with microservices, DevOps tools, and design principles.
- Scripting proficiency in Python, NodeJS, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong knowledge of SMPTE standards (e.g., ST 2110, ST 2022-7) for broadcast and streaming.
- Foundational cloud certification (e.g., Azure Fundamentals, AWS Solutions Architect, or CompTIA Cloud+).
- Experience with compression techniques such as MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, or JPEG XS.
- Knowledge of Evertz software control systems (e.g., VistaLink, Magnum).
- Ability to create, read, and interpret AutoCAD and other technical documentation tools.
