Med Tech/Lab Tech

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of simple-to-complex diagnostic tests and laboratory services in an off-site laboratory setting.
• Provide specialized expertise in areas such as chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, virology, molecular diagnostics, or transfusion medicine.
• Ensure sample suitability and stability, including potential sample collection.
• Apply principles and techniques of Clinical Laboratory Science to produce timely, accurate results and interpret findings.
• Maintain and ensure the functionality of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Manage quality control and quality assurance aspects of testing to ensure readiness for regulatory inspections.
• Monitor, order, and stock laboratory supplies as directed by the Lab Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records and coordinate communication between on-site and off-site co-workers to ensure continuity of patient care.

Requirements

• Associate's degree specializing in medical technology from an accredited institution or completion of an official military medical laboratory procedures course (with military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist).
• Must obtain one of the following certifications within one year of hire: MLT(ASCP), AMT, NCA, or MT(ASCP).
• Ability to work the 1st shift (9:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with rotating weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biologic, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
