Responsibilities
- Build and test prototypes, sub-assemblies, and feasibility units under engineering guidance
- Interpret schematics, diagrams, and layouts to perform testing, checkout, troubleshooting, and rework of PCBAs and harnesses
- Fabricate custom test equipment, boxes, and harnesses; procure and source components as needed
- Operate and set up standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, analyzers, supplies, and DMMs
- Perform PCBA/cable rework to IPC standards
- Adapt plans quickly in a fast-paced environment with evolving goals
Requirements
- Experience with prototype electro-mechanical hardware such as PCBAs, cables, harnesses, or robotic/vehicle systems
- Hands-on skills in soldering, crimping, rework, and cable assembly to IPC standards
- Familiarity with electrical components, connectors, tools, and test equipment
- Solid grasp of fundamental electrical engineering concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience as an engineering technician in a prototype or development lab
- Strong ability to read/interpret PCBA schematics, cable drawings, and test procedures independently
