Mechatronics Technician

Responsibilities

• Build and test prototypes, sub-assemblies, and feasibility units under engineering guidance
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, and layouts to perform testing, checkout, troubleshooting, and rework of PCBAs and harnesses
• Fabricate custom test equipment, boxes, and harnesses; procure and source components as needed
• Operate and set up standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, analyzers, supplies, and DMMs
• Perform PCBA/cable rework to IPC standards
• Adapt plans quickly in a fast-paced environment with evolving goals

Requirements

• Experience with prototype electro-mechanical hardware such as PCBAs, cables, harnesses, or robotic/vehicle systems
• Hands-on skills in soldering, crimping, rework, and cable assembly to IPC standards
• Familiarity with electrical components, connectors, tools, and test equipment
• Solid grasp of fundamental electrical engineering concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as an engineering technician in a prototype or development lab
• Strong ability to read/interpret PCBA schematics, cable drawings, and test procedures independently
