About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance on industrial centrifuges, specifically decanters and separators, at customer sites across Germany
- Execute commissioning of machines in new installations or during plant conversions
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system malfunctions as a first responder
- Integrate company control systems into customer plant controls, including interface testing
- Collaborate with international product specialists and internal networks to solve complex technical issues
- Support digitalization strategies by contributing to the development of remote service capabilities via mobile apps
- Provide technical consultation to customers regarding the product portfolio and suitable Alfa Laval solutions
- Document service assignments and coordinate follow-up activities with the internal service team
Requirements
- Technical or electro-mechanical vocational training (e.g., Mechatronics) with practical experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical and control engineering
- Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal, ABB frequency converters, and B&R control systems
- Experience with software installation, hardware configuration, and PN/PN-coupler data exchange
- Ability to configure Profinet networks, including IP addressing and basic settings
- High degree of independence, initiative, and strong communication skills
- Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken)
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Germany (averaging 3 hotel stays per week)
