Mechatronics Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance on industrial centrifuges, specifically decanters and separators, at customer sites across Germany
• Execute commissioning of machines in new installations or during plant conversions
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system malfunctions as a first responder
• Integrate control systems into customer plant automation, including interface testing
• Configure network settings for Profinet devices, including IP addressing and basic settings
• Collaborate with international product specialists and contribute to digital service initiatives like remote maintenance via mobile apps
• Provide technical consultation to customers regarding the Alfa Laval product portfolio

Requirements

• Technical or electro-mechanical training (e.g., Mechatronics) with practical experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical and control engineering
• Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal, ABB frequency converters, and B&R control systems
• Experience with software installation, hardware configuration, and PN/PN-coupler data exchange
• Ability to perform network configuration for Profinet devices
• Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken)
• High degree of independence, initiative, and strong communication skills
• Willingness to travel extensively (averaging 3 overnight stays per week)
