Mechatronics Engineer

About the Company

BeeX is building the world's most advanced Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs). We specialise in providing autonomous robotics solutions to safeguard underwater infrastructure in the maritime, energy and defense sectors.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement mechanical systems for HAUVs, including components and electronics housings in CAD
• Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural integrity and stress assessment
• Draft 2D drawings for fabrication and assembly
• Assemble and test mechanical components in workshops and real-world environments
• Participate in sea trials for testing and evaluation of robotic systems
• Design power electronics, wire harnesses, and cabling
• Develop firmware on microcontrollers (Atmega, ARM) for real-time hardware control
• Perform stress testing for thermal, vibration, EMI-EMC, and humidity
• Gather user requirements in collaboration with management and customers

Requirements

• B.Eng in Mechatronics, Computer, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• 0-3 years of experience in mechanical product design
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
• Experience with prototyping (3D printing, CNC, welding, composites)
• Experience with FEA and CFD simulation (ANSYS, OpenFOAM, etc.)
• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and sensor/actuator interfacing
• Experience with low voltage power electronics design
• Proficiency in C++ for embedded systems
• Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent PCB CAD software

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Python for high-level interfacing and algorithms
• Experience with corrosion control and thermal design methods
• Experience with Git and version control systems
• Knowledge of EMI-EMC, vibration, and environmental testing procedures
