About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform and document final flight inspections of spacecraft mechanisms and launch vehicle separation systems
- Execute launch vehicle separation system mechanical integration activities, including installation and verification of hardware
- Perform final flight electrical connector mating operations and verify interface integrity
- Conduct mechanical and electrical verification testing of separation systems and related flight hardware
- Maintain strict Safe-to-Mate (S2M) processes and inspection requirements
- Support mechanism and spacecraft configuration control through final vehicle processing
- Review and disposition hardware discrepancies and support anomaly investigations
- Coordinate with launch vehicle integration teams, mission partners, and quality representatives
- Support launch countdown activities, rehearsals, and readiness reviews
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace, spacecraft, launch vehicle, or defense programs
- Experience performing hardware inspections and torque-controlled mechanical operations
- Direct experience working with electrical connectors, harnesses, or flight-like interfaces
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, ICDs, and test procedures
- Experience in hardware integration, test, manufacturing, or field engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct launch-site experience supporting spacecraft or launch vehicle integration
- Experience with spacecraft mechanisms, deployment systems, or separation hardware
- Knowledge of electrical test techniques including insulation resistance testing
- Understanding of pyrotechnic or ordnance aerospace systems and safety protocols
- Familiarity with quality management systems and nonconformance processes
