Mechanic/Shop Leader

Responsibilities

• Perform customer service functions and scheduled maintenance
• Manage administrative services including cost estimates and maintenance notifications
• Reconcile operating accounts, sales, cash, and receipts
• Draft and maintain operating reports for the division manager
• Monitor inventory and order shop supplies and tools
• Schedule and arrange necessary shop maintenance
• Ensure shop cleanliness and safety standards
• Oversee licenses and permits with the Asset Manager
• Design and update equipment and spray systems to specifications
• Conduct vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn parts
• Perform preventive maintenance, component upgrades, and corrosion control
• Assist in the fabrication of new equipment and new builds
• Repair and overhaul major assemblies including power trains, electrical, hydraulics, and brake systems
• Conduct test drives to check vehicle performance
• Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements
• Conduct field visits for emergencies or sudden breakdowns

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with at least 5 years of clean driving history
• 5+ years of previous mechanic experience
• Leadership experience
• Extensive knowledge of automobile repair and ability to interpret technical manuals
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stretch for repairs

Preferred Qualifications
