About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure work is performed according to technical requirements, including drawings, specifications, and inspection and test plans (ITPs).
- Complete comprehensive checklists at each hold/witness point as required.
- Generate inspection and test plans, procedures, quality reports, and metrics.
- Work with construction supervisors, schedulers, and subcontractors to implement the project quality system.
- Examine field conditions to identify inaccuracies or cost-saving measures and take corrective actions.
- Organize and maintain project quality records and files.
- Report all Non-Conformance and rework issues to the Project Quality Manager.
- Assist in the interpretation of construction codes and standards.
- Identify and mitigate safety hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or technical degree in Engineering or Science (with 2+ years of related construction experience) OR an Associate degree with 3+ years of experience OR High School diploma with 5+ years of experience.
- Must be a certified CWB Level 2 Inspector.
- Working knowledge of industry codes and standards including ACI, AWS, ASME, and NEC.
- Ability to read and understand technical plans, specifications, and 2D/3D drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
- Strong mathematical abilities and attention to detail.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Ability to work onsite in various climates and environments, including overtime and weekends as required.
