About the role

Responsibilities

  • Utilize 3D design software such as SmartPlant 3D, Bentley OpenPlant, or AutoCAD Plant 3D to create 3D equipment models.
  • Design piping systems and generate isometric drawings for industrial and power generation facilities.
  • Perform early project design work related to facility layout and equipment general arrangement.
  • Develop, monitor, and check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes, contract requirements, and company standards.
  • Navigate 3D models to check for interferences and ensure constructability.
  • Support construction teams by answering RFIs and providing creative design solutions on-site.
  • Coordinate with internal and external design partners, including equipment suppliers and engineers.
  • Train, mentor, and advise lower-level designers and support staff on industry standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in CAD, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of 3D modeling and detailed design experience.
  • Proficiency in SmartPlant 3D (or similar), Microstation, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in the Nuclear, Industrial, Power, or Oil and Gas sectors.
  • Proven experience with pipe support design, equipment layout, and system installation.
  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

  • Experience with DOE and Commercial Nuclear projects.
